Read below to find out more about the professional training and credentials of our eye doctors.  Both of our optometrists perform comprehensive eye exams and treat many common eye conditions including dry eyes, eye infections, eye allergies and diabetic retinopathy. Our eye doctors offer eyecare services in three languages: English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.

Dr. Jill S. Chen

Dr. Jill Chen is a native of Cerritos and after graduating from Cerritos High School, went on to attend the University of California, San Diego in sunny La Jolla. Dr. Chen graduated with dual degrees in Biology and History from UCSD, and made the decision to stay in southern California to obtain her doctoral degree at the Southern California College of Optometry. She received her internship training at the Southern Arizona Veteran Affairs Health Care Facility, Lawton Indian Hospital, Southern California College of Optometry Eye Care Center, and the prestigious Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Chen is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry with the most advanced Optometric credentials in California to treat glaucoma. She is experienced in eye infections and disease management, contact lenses, and pediatric vision care.

Dr. Chen is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association. She is excited to serve the city of Cerritos and her community not only as a doctor, but also as a resident. In her spare time, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with her family and two young kids.

Dr. Kenneth T. Bracken

Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Bracken attended Ferris State University where he received dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Applied Biology and Vision Science. He went on to obtain his doctoral degree from the Michigan College of Optometry where he graduated cum laude in May 2010. He received his internship training at Duane L. Waters Hospital, Veteran Affairs Northern Indiana Health Care Systems, and the prestigious Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

After graduation, Dr. Bracken moved to Southern California where he practiced both full-scope optometry in a private practice setting as well as medical optometry alongside ophthalmologists of all specialties at the Pacific Eye Institute and Laser Center until relocating to Orange County in early 2016. From his time at the Pacific Eye Institute and Laser Center, Dr. Bracken brings years of experience managing thousands of cataract and hundreds of refractive surgery patients to our practice.

Dr. Bracken is a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. He is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry with the most advanced optometric credentials in California to treat glaucoma. Dr. Bracken is experienced in eye infection and disease management, and has a special interest in glaucoma and cataract pre and post surgical management.

Dr. Bracken is an avid sports fan and played hockey and baseball growing up. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and following the local sports teams. He is also a technology enthusiast and enjoys utilizing the latest eye care technologies available here at Modern Eyes Optometry to provide his patients with the highest quality care.
